Sharp Dressed Man

Hey bloggers! Are you all ready for Christmas?! I am soooo not! We are having a handmade Christmas and so I still have about 10 things to make! Yikes!

Here's a layout that I made of my middle son Caleb on his first day of preschool. I looked over and he was dressed in one red heel, one red boot and a cute hat :)

I'm going to enter this into the challenge over at Frosted Designs for day 3 of their 12 days of Christmas. Day 3 is to use 3 different inks/mists. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink to ink the edges of my papers to give them a cohesive feel even though there are quite a few different patterns. I flicked some green studio calico mist on my background and I used some black Ranger Archival ink to stamp a few stamps :)

Here's some close ups of this cutie :)

Well, there ya go! I probably won't have anything to post until after Christmas now! But stay tuned because after Christmas I'll be posting all the crafty things I've made for presents for everyone! Have an awesome Christmas everyone!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Um...yeah, I still exist!!

OMGosh You guys! It's been forever hasn't it?! I haven't posted anything in over 2 months! I actually started feeling really overwhelmed with all my different dt assignments and family activities and scrapbooking just started to feel like a "job" and that is not how I want to feel about scrapping! I love it and it's a huge stress reliever and an amazing creative outlet, but it was not feeling like that for a long time. So, I actually quit all my design teams and took a break. I didn't even scrap for quite a while either! I have recently started to make time for scrapbooking again...but it's mostly stuff I won't be able to show you until after Christmas! I am very glad to be scrapping again, and I plan on blogging regularly again soon...I wouldn't count on much before Christmas though! Maybe if I'm lucky to sneak away and make something that's not for Christmas ;) I haven't even started working on my December Daily album yet! Although I'm dying to get going on that! My hubs also got me a kit subscription to Studio Calico for Christmas, so I'm sooooo excited to start getting my monthly kit!! Wooooohoooo! Anyway, I'm really happy to be back! I've missed all my bloggy friends!

I took a break the other day from the "Christmas presents" to make this fun layout of my middle son Caleb on his way to his first day of school. That backpack is his favourite thing! My dad bought it for him when they came up for a visit. Caleb had an allergic reaction to peanuts at church that morning, so he went to the hospital instead of going shopping with grandpa and Barb, so they bought him this backpack and put a big John Deer truck and a box of oreo cookies inside of it! He's loved it ever since!

the main patterned paper is from Studio Calico and the rest of the paper is from my scraps. Some of it's Basic Grey and other MME...some of it I have no idea! The sunglasses are from Basic Grey too.

The fun little library pocket is Amy Tangerine and the blue wooden hearts are Studio Calico too...with a little TH ink :) I also used the Tim Holtz Sizzix alpha for the title. I can't remember who makes those fun blue arrows....I want to say Pink Paislee, but I'm not sure...I do know that they're super fun resist that come in white, and then you can ink them up as you want! Love them!

Well, there ya go! I'm working on a bit of a blog re-design too, but my time is soooo limited these days that it will be a very slow process!! In the meantime, I've got some fun chevron background...lol

I wanted to play along with Frosted Designs 12 days of Christmas for this layout. Day 4 is to use 4 patterned papers! I think I've managed at least 4 in this layout!

I'm so glad to be back!! Thanks for stickin around too (if anyone has!! lol)

Little Lion Man

Good Morning!

I just wanted to share a quick layout I made using Creative Scrappers Sketch 228

These pictures are of my middle son Caleb on his first Halloween! He was soooo stinkin cute I can't even stand it! He still is very cute! I think it's a survival mechanism ;) cause if he wasn't so cute some times I think it might not go so well for him! lol

I used the MME Halloween collection (I can't remember the name of it) and some older Halloween papers I had that I fussy cut the bats from. I also used my new Tim Holtz strip die for the circle strips. The background paper is from Simple Stories.

Thanks for stopping by! I've got a super busy day of yard work, hockey and a pot luck out in Big Lake tonight! I hope to get some crafty time in tonight too!

Cheers!

Seriously Creative Challenge: Photo Inspiration

Good Morning all you crafty peeps! It's time for another Seriously Creative Challenge!! This one is a fabulous fall ombre photo inspiration! You can take the colours, the pumpkins, the ombre technique or all of it and make card, layout or project and link it up to win a 10$ gift certificate plus another surprise gift!
Also, head on over to the Creative Accents Blog to enter to win some blog candy!

I made an ombre background with a mistable resist paper from Heidi Swapp and some Distress re-inkers and Mister Hueys.

I used this fun little felt camera/heart that I won with my Page Maps goodies in the summer...so many embellies, so little time!

I tucked my journaling in this fun little kraft envelope I got from Creative Accents. I just added a piece of text paper on the front to jazz it up a bit :)

I used this fun sketch from Creative Scrappers and I flipped it to fit this picture.

I'm also entering this layout in the challenge over at Red Carpet Studio: Child's Play

I love the inspiration over at CSI: color, stories, inspiration and that is where I got a lot of inspiration for this layout! I used the prompts for Case File #40

Well there you have it! I hope you play along with our fun fall photo inspiration!!

Happy Scrapping!! And have a great weekend!

Me go Cule?

Good Morning Bloggers! I had a nice surprise in the mail today...I actually received a scrappy prize that I won! I have the worst luck with getting things lost in the mail...I'm not kidding you, about 50% of the time the prizes that I win show up...maybe not even that often! So it was a nice surprise when the mail showed up this morning with some yummy Claudine Hellmuth goodies!! I can't even remember where I won them from, so I'm sorry for not giving props, but Thank You!!!

This is one of the layouts I made at the Autumn Masquerade crop: I only got 2 done...in 2 days...I usually spend most of my time chatting, and shopping! lol This layout is totally out of my comfort zone! I'm not that great at clustering and flowers and all that pretty stuff, but I thought this picture totally went with that rustic clustery vibe :)

I used this sketch from Boys Rule.

The close ups turned out better than the big one...I have a hard time getting a good shot of light coloured layouts.
I used the new Tim Holtz brick strip die. I'm kina in love with it :) I also used the new Ranger metalic Distress stains on the lock and key...how awesome are they?! I think they're my new favourite thing!!

The title is not a type-o, it says "Me Go Cule?" Kieran is the youngest of my boys and the only one not in "cule" and every time I take Caleb or Ethan to school he says "Me go Cule?!" The picture was taken outside of Caleb's preschool on the first day. He was kinda sad that he didn't get to go. He will definitely be ready to go next year!

Here's a close up of my clustery corner :)

I'm going to enter this into the Simon Says Stamp challenge: Die cuts/punches, and Ranger is having a contest  to use distress inks, and since I use them in every single layout I do, that wasn't hard! Also Simon Says Stamp and Show's challenge is: "Rustification"

Well, I'm off! I have to go get an xray on my foot! It's been messed up for 3 weeks now! Please pray for a resolution! I hope it's not broken, but if it is, then at least I can fix it! I just want to know what's wrong so it can heal and I can start exercising again!!

Have a great day! It's a beautiful one here!

Cheers!

*****SECOND POST OF THE DAY*****
Scroll down for my Graphicat Sketch Challenge!!

Happy Friday everyone!! It certainly is for me! My husband is away at school for 6 weeks and he comes home on the weekends. Usually I don't care weather it's the weekend or not, because he works a weird 7 on 7 off schedule, but for this 6 weeks I will definitely be sayin TGIF! lol And this Friday is particularly great because I get to take a break from the kids this weekend and go croppin!! Wooohooo!! I'm so excited!!

Anyway, this week's Fabulous Friday Challenge over at Frosted Designs is Doilies!! You can make anything to play along as long as it's got a doily on it somewhere! This weeks' sponsor is Graphic 45!!! Wooohooo! LOVE G45! Be sure to go over there and show them some love from you Fabulous Frosted Designs Fans!

Here's the card I made for this challenge:

It was just a quick one that used some leftover hexagons from my layout that I just made, a misted doilie and a sticker from the Echo Park Everyday Ecclectic collection (the papers are from that too) and some Studio Calico papers too :)

There you have it! Have a great weekend! I know I will!!

Blessings

A Graphicat Layout?!

Good afternoon bloggers! I can't believe it's already been almost 2 weeks since my last post! Hockey, school and the gym has been kicking my butt and I have had NO TIME for crafty things! It's really sad actually! But I am going to a weekend crop this Friday night and Saturday all day, and I am sooooo looking forward to it!!

This post is extremely late!! It was supposed to be up on Monday, but better late than never I guess!! It's time for another Graphicat Sketch!! Loved this one, because it was soooo easy to make into a layout! I just haven't been feelin the card love these days! My mojo has been severely lacking! I think because I've just been so stinkin busy!!

Anyway, I made this layout of Caleb on his first day of Preschool. How freakin cute is this kid?! I can't even stand it!! Most times it's a good thing, because although he's really cute...he's kinda bad too!! lol

 And some close ups:

You'll definitely want to head over to Graphicat Sketches to play along this month, because EVERYONE WINS!! Yay!!! So get on over there and get sketchy with us!! I'm off to go pack up my stuff for the weekend!!

Cheers!

This week's Fabulous Friday Challenge over at Frosted Designs is TRIANGLES!!! Super easy challenge!! I used a Jenny Bowlin banner punch to make these fun triangles and I thought they would be so fun as a cute flower! This journal entry is all about just starting to "art journal" and how I love it!

Here are some close ups:

Black Cats Welcome Here

Mornin Bloggers! I'm starting to get into Halloween here! I just love it! Fall is my favourite time of year, and ever since I was a kid, Halloween has been my absolute favourite holiday! I love the costumes and all things creepy! It's getting to look a lot like Halloween over at the Graphicat Designs store too! Cheri's got some new creepy, spooky and ever sarcastic new Halloween digis and this is one of them! I had a hard time deciding which one to do...but I finally decided that the "Black Cats" one was the winner this time. I just love the font and that cat with the moon wrapped around his tail is perfect!

Oh, I almost forgot! It's time for another sketch too! I was so excited about the new digis I just about forgot to show you the new sketch! lol

It's a fun one isn't it :)

Isn't this a fun new digi? You can go get all of them here. So go do it! lol

I'm entering this card into the following challenges: Use it Tuesday: Anything Goes: I used some hoarded tape from like 3 years ago, and the bat rub ons are from the basic grey halloween collection from a few years back too!
Scrap-Creations: Pick 3: Glitter, Embossing, Die Cutting (tree and fence)
Raise the Bar: I believe I can fly (anything with wings)
Docerela Creations:  Anything Goes

I hope you can get your crafty mojo on and get sketchy with us! Link it up here to win a fab prize!

Have a great day!

Holy Pumpkins Batman!

Good Afternoon! I'm having a totally lazy Saturday...nursing myself back to health...this cold I have has been totally kicking my butt! I pray it's gone soon!

I made this layout for our challenge over at Seriously Creative Challenges

To play along, you must create a project that includes a book print/ text pattern and at least one textural or dimensional (non paper) element. Perfect for those back to school or fall layouts!

I made this layout based on another awesome Boys Rule sketch.

I am now officially in the Fall scrapbooking phase of the year...lol, but I'm not into using traditional fall products...go figure :) This layout is really bugging me actually...because I glued it all down, then realized the stinkin chevron pattern is vertical!!! arrrggg!! You can tell I'm sick eh?! Oh well, not much I can do about it now...short of starting over again...which I am NOT going to do...lol

I used a couple fab new stamp sets from Studio Calico/Hero Arts. I just love this alpha stamp! It's got an outline alpha stamp and a solid! So many different options with that one! The second new one is another Studio Calico/ Hero Arts stamp that I stamped onto some Claudine Hellmuth sticky backed canvas. It's a cute little banner that says "My Happy Place" lovin it :)

The banners are from the Basic Grey "clippings" collection, and so is some of the patterned paper.

The leaves were die cut with my Tim Holtz movers and shapers leaf dies.

And the "Batman" letters are from Jillybean Soup

I really hope you can play along with us this month at Seriously Creative Challenges and challenge yourself to  play with some different textures! They can be super fun and add some great dimension and interest to your layouts!

Wanna Ride?

Good Morning! I'm sitting here drinking my coffee that I made with a piece of paper towel as a filter because I forgot to buy filters yesterday...lol I can tell you that it makes some pretty strong java!!

In case any of you were wondering how the "Tour de Cariboo" went, I made it 65km!!! I was pretty proud of myself because I'd only ever rode 36kms before and that was no hills...the route for the Tour has a loooot of hills and I rode up every single one of them until I couldn't go any longer! Next year I'm doing the whole thing. I figure if I can do 65 with hardly any training, then 75 with a year of riding under my belt will be totally doable! Not to mention that I really hope to be a lot lighter next year too!

Anyway, I wanted to show you a super quick layout I did the other night using one of the August sketches from Boys Rule.

I know this sketch only has 2 pictures, but I really wanted to add that adorable picture of Ethan up close in the wagon, so I added it with my title.

There's a lot of fabulous space for journaling in this sketch, but the patterned paper made it difficult for journaling to be very legible, so I thought I would do my journaling with teeny alpha stickers and it showed up really well!

I'm still working at using up my August Counterfeit kit, and this polka dot paper was my last full 12x12 sheet...so now I think I'm going to work on making Septembers :)

Well I'm off to clean my house!! I swear it never ends does it?!

Have a great day!

Finally!!!! I missed my precious technology!!

Howdy Y'all!! You might be wondering why you haven't heard from me recently. Well, my modem decided it didn't like to work anymore, and so I had to wait for a replacement in the mail...over the long weekend...
Needless to say, I've been having some harsh techno-withdrawls!

I'm just going to post quickly tonight though, because it's way past my bedtime, and I'm doing a 75km bike race tomorrow!!! Please pray that I don't die!! lol I am not sure that I'm going to do the whole thing, but I'm really going to try!! We're doing it in a relay, but I start first, so I'm just going to go until I can't anymore...ya never know, I could get all the way ;)

This layout is of my cute little adorable cowboy Caleb at the Canada Day Parade. So adorable!! I finally got to use my Tim Holtz alphabet die that I bought ages ago!! I looooove that it will cut chipboard!! I can make my own "thickers" now! haha

I'm pretty happy with how this layout turned out, and it was finished really quickly too! I finally just decided that although it is artistic and I really love making great layouts, the main reason I do this is for memory keeping, so I have made myself not overthink layouts anymore and I get them done waaaay faster!!

I used yet another fabulous sketch from Boys Rule for this layout :)

All of these yummy products I used were from my August Counterfeit Kit.
I'm also entering this into the challenge over at Scrapfit: Workout 75 is "Trendy Twine" I soooo love twine :)
and also into the challenge over at Anything But a Card: Anything goes! (as long as it's not a card! lol)

Well, there you have it ladies and gentlemen! Wish me luck on the Tour de Cariboo!! Pray I am alive tomorrow night!!

*hugs*

August's 12 tags (down to the wire again!)

***Second post of the day***
Scroll down for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge!!!

Pheew!! I just realized last night that if I wanted to get my tag finished for Tim Holtz's 12 tags of 2012 that I was going to have to get on it! I had started it the night before last, but couldn't finish it before I had to go to bed...but here it is, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I used my stash for everything which I'm happy about, because I'm trying to be budget conscious these days! I made the silhouette with my Cameo and stamped used a Hampton Arts frame stamp because I didn't have Tim's stamp set yet! I didn't have the same embossing folder he used, so instead of stamping it on the tag, I stamped it separately and fussy cut it so I wouldn't emboss the whole thing! I like how the added layers give it some extra dimension.

After I cut out the silhouette, there was just something missing to it, so I painted it with some Rock Candy crackle paint and let it dry overnight. When I came back to it, I have finally learned that with Rock Candy, I must be patient! I usually wait until it starts to crackle then I dry it with my heat gun, but 9 times out of 10 it doesn't work out. I let this one dry on it's own and it's perfect! The crackle paint stayed on, and crackled beautifully. So I guess I'm going to have to learn patience...I'm not good at that! lol

I added a little bit of rock candy stickles to the flowers too.

Well, I'm off to get groceries in the rain!

Hope the weather is good where you are!

Have a great weekend!!

Sarah

Surprise!!

Happy Friday everyone! I'm here today with another Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge for you to play along with! This week is super easy! We want to see you using "Office Supplies" on your layouts, cards or off the page projects for a chance to win this fab prize pack so generously donated by The Paper Trail:

I made this layout of Kieran's 3D Ultrasound. I die cut 3 tags from a manilla file folder and stitched them together to make a fun hidden journaling spot! We got the 3D Ultrasound when we had Kieran because we wanted to find out what we were having. We didn't find out with our other two boys, but for our third we decided that we'd had 2 fabulous surprises, and this time we just couldn't wait! I wanted to do the 3D one though because I wanted to be sure that it was right...I've heard too many stories about people being told they were having a girl only to find out that something was just hiding in the ultrasound pictures!  These pictures just amaze me! It's so crazy how you can see Kieran's facial features and everything so closely! With Ethan and Caleb, it just kinda looks like a side profile of a baby and that's it. I think it was definitely worth it getting these done!

Here's the hidden journaling out of it's pocket

The O and 3 banner were stamped with my new Unity stamp (I think I have a mild addiction to Unity stamps...I kinda love em). The set is the numbers 0-9. I wanted to use the 0 and 3 because he's our 3rd baby. I really wanted to sew on this layout too, but my little sister borrowed my sewing machine and while I was making this layout at 1am, I was reminded that I didn't have it and had no way of getting it...so I used my trusty ruler (ooooh...another "office supply" lol) and my fine tipped copic pen and hand drew the stitching.

All of the goodies on this layout were made using my Counterfeit Kit. This patterned paper was my last full piece of paper left in my kit!

I made this layout based on another fab Page Maps sketch:

I really loved this sketch, but I wanted to use all 3 of my pictures on this layout, so I just altered it a little :)

Are you still with me?!?! I know it's been a long post! Thanks for stickin around! And I hope you join us this week at Frosted Designs!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment too! They make my day!

Cheers

Sarah
