Hopefully in the New Year...

I know I've been really suckin at bloggin lately, but at my In Laws where I'm living, there is currently only one pc, and we're all sharing it! But hopefully we'll be getting ours fixed soon, and my new year's resolution is to start scrapping waaaay more than I have been, and start blogging way more too! I don't know if you remember that challenge that Kaylyn and I started a while ago, but in the new year, I plan on starting that up again. In case you don't remember, or haven't been following that long, it's a challenge to scrapbook the 50 most important things from Lisa Bearnson's book "50 Moments: Scrapbook The Pages That Matter The Most"
The original plan was to do 1 a week. I got the first one done, then I found black mold in my house, and had to move out and my creative flow was seriously disrupted, and I've been having a hard time getting it back. I'm determined to scrap more in the new year before the baby comes and I have no time!! I'll kick it off with a 12 hour crop on Wrestling day at my LSS. For those of you who don't live in Williams Lake, Wrestling Day is our after New Years Day holiday...ya know, Boxing Day after Christmas, Wrestling Day after New Years Day...hehe

So, stay tuned for the second installment of the 50 most important things. I'll post it on January 3rd!

Some Exciting News!!

So, I haven't really been blogging too much these days, but I have been quite preoccupied lately. I think a lot of you already know this, but it's pretty exciting, and TOTALLY unexpected! We found out about a month ago that we are having another BABY!!! At first I was feeling majorly overwhelmed because our youngest one is only just 9 months old. The first thing I did after I found out was turn on the tv and watched 18 kids and counting, and that made me feel better! hehehe
But now that I've had some time to process it some more, I'm really excited, and I know I'm going to be super busy (Caleb and the new baby are going to be only 15 months apart), but it will be awesome! Everything happens for a reason, and at least this way, we'll go through all the stages quite quickly between the two of them. I'm pretty sure that this will be our last baby too...which does make me feel a little sad. Part of me doesn't want to be done having kids, but I really don't want to have 4. I think it just makes me a little sad to know that there will be no more babies after this, but it has to be like that at some point...I know I don't want to be another "Dugger" family! lol So, I'm due May 2nd. And we're pretty excited!! I have a little pic of the teeny little one here too...
although this ultrasound was too soon to find out, we will be finding out what this one is eventually...we didn't with our first two, but I want to this time...So, I'll keep you posted!!

I Know It's Been Forever!!!

It's been soooo long since my last post I know! I can't even really say that I've been all that extremely busy. Well, I'm still not altogether unpacked, and Ethan has school and we now live 40 minutes out of town, so I guess I've got a bit of an excuse. But mostly I have to say that I think it's been sheer laziness! I've settled into fall nicely and all my fav shows are on, so I've been sitting downstairs relaxing and catching up on Grey's Anatomy instead of scrapbooking (or at least bloggin!)
But life is good, and I have managed to do a little scrapping here and there, and I am very excited to get going on my next project (I have part of the Quickutz holiday gift set to play with! shhh!! But I'm not allowed to tell anyone what it is!!! hahahahaaaa!!) I'll post my work with them...when they come out of course! lol I know, I'm evil!! Muahahahaaa!!

Anyway, here's some of my latest pages. The Halloween one I finished before I even moved out here, but I've been too lazy (and without a pc) to get it posted...but without further adieu...

It's Official!

So, I know it's been quite a while since my last post, but I've been pretty busy! We have finally made the "big" move to Big Lake, and we're *almost* finished at the "stinky house" as my 3 year old calls it! lol I probably have one more van load of our stuff to bring out to our new place, and then I just have to finish cleaning. I'm pretty excited to get it over and done with! This month has been a total worlwind! Ethan started preschool (which he loves!) he doesn't even care too much that I leave, and that I was TOTALLY surprised with because he's a total Mama's Boy! We had to pack up and re-locate, which has been nothing short of exhausting and extremely hard to do when you've got two little kids who can't go into the house with you while you pack. So it's been night time packing and a lot of Chris doing it while I stayed at my mom's with the kids. I'm really really glad that's almost over! I think I can safely say that by the weekend, we will be DONE! YAAAY!! And the third thing that's been going on this month is that my dear littlest boy Caleb has decided that he's going to get all his teeth at once! And I'm not even exaggerating that at all! His first tooth came in on August 25th, and now he's got 8! Can you freakin believe it?! Everyone keeps telling me that at least this means he's getting it over and done with, and I know that's true, but it's still hard to be greatful of that when you're awake at 3 in the morning for 2 hours with a screaming baby! Hopefully we're on the tail end of that as well.

I am definately looking forward to a little down time...who knows maybe in a week or so, my bedroom will be unpacked, and I can enjoy a little "me" time, playing with all my scrap supplies! I've been going through crazy withdrawls! I've been scrapbooking in my head, so by the time I actually get to sit down and glue pictures to paper, I might be on quite a roll! lol!

Anyway, it's past my bedtime, so goodnight everyone and thanks for checking out my little corner of the web!

Cheers!

Let us Never Forget

I just wanted to remind everyone to say a prayer for the families of the tragedy that took place on 9/11. Many lives were lost that day, but I hope that some good might have come out of it as well. I believe that many people joined together to help their fellow man in a time of grave need that day, and we will always remember the people who's lives were needlessly lost that day. Let's not ever forget. Also, although some might find it hard, I would like to say a prayer for the people responsible for those attacks, in hope that they will someday change their ways.

KChipman Photography

A friend of mine that I met when I worked at Zone 4 has recently started her own photography business, and her work is AMAZING! She does such artistic work and she definately has an eye for capturing great moments.
I definately recommend that you check out her site KChipman Photography. It has a huge sample of her work, and you will not be dissapointed!

Week 5 Sense-ational Summer Challenge!

So, this is the last week of the Dixie Pieces Challenge, and you probably guessed what it's going to be if you've been following it at all. Yes, it's the Sounds of Summer! Now bear with me because I took a really crappy picture of this one, and unfortunately cannot do a retake as I brought it in to Creative Accents already...so here it is, hopefully you can see it! lol

I chose this picture of my mom and sisters in Disneyland because I've always loved it there and it does have such magical sounds. They may not be the typical sounds of summer, but what's the fun in doing something typical? And I figured since California is pretty much summery all the time, it's the perfect pic for the "sounds of summer"

The technique we had to use this week was all of the other previous techniques in one LO. So we had to incorporate stitching, fussy cutting, painting, and doodling. I finally used my Bazzil stitching templates to stitch the flourish over the picture. I was quite impressed with how easy they were to use (once I finally stabbed the needle through a picture and 2 layers of cardstock! lol) I hand painted little stars and randomly added bling to some of them. I hand cut the square holes that have the hand cut paislees in them also. I used the new Haunted alphabet from Quickutz, which I'm absolutely in love with! It's so creepy, but can also be really great for a whimsical LO like this one!

This will probably be the last of the scrapping until I get into my new place unfortunately. I can already feel the withdrawl setting in!

We're back!

So we just got back from our little end of summer vacation, and although we did have the thought of coming home to no home (we're staying at my mom's right now) looming over our heads we still had an awesome time! We went down to the Lower Mainland and we stayed in Aldergrove. The first night we were there we went to Langly and took the kids to Chuck E Cheeses. The kids had a blast! We had a lot of fun too, however by the end of the night I was definately suffering from over stimulation! After Chuck E Cheeses we went next door to the Marble Slab for some desert. It was sooo yummy! I think it was the best ice cream I've ever had (as it should be for almost 20 bucks for the three of us!). The next day we took the kids to the zoo (now I can finally use all that zoo paper I've been collecting!) We took a train ride around the zoo and saw all the animals. They had Zebras, Lions, Tigers, Turtles, Pink Flamingos...a whole bunch of really cool animals. We also rented a bik there for an hour. They have these bikes that seat 3 people in the front and there's a basket in front for 2 more kids to sit in. It looked like a lot of fun (and it was), but holy cow what a work out!! We somehow managed to go uphill almost all the way too! (or at least it seemed like it anyway!)
The last day we were there we went to Whiterock and spent the morning at the beach. For that reason alone I wished that we lived down at the coast. I couldn't handle all the traffic and busy-ness, but I LOVE the ocean, and the kids have sooo much fun there!
All in all, it was a really good trip! We had quite the scare on the way home though. In 100 mile we went to fill up our tank and it wouldn't accept our card, so we thought we'd spent all our money! We couldn't even check until we got home! For whatever reason it didn't work, it wasn't because we were broke, thank God! But what a scare!
So, now we're back to reality...and packing up our house to move, but I will keep you all posted on our progress, and maybe if I'm lucky, I'll get to scrap a bit here and there!

Ciao for Now!

Bad things...

So this afternoon I went downstairs to investigate the carpet in my scraproom (there has been a mysterious smell down there on and off for a year...it was really weird though because it was just really sporadic, so I thought the smell was just coming from this pipe coming from the wall, or just a damp basement kind of smell) anyway, yesterday it started really stinking, so I thought I'd check to see if it was leaking from the pipe and making the carpet wet. To make a long story short, I checked the carpet, and it was damp...then I decided to peel the carpet back a bit and see what was underneath, and all I saw was BLACK MOULD! So, needless to say we left and we're staying with my mom right now. We were planning on moving in October anyway, but now we've decided that we're just going to move as quickly as we can after we get back from our trip this weekend. So the next few weeks are probably going to be pretty hairy and I'm not sure that I will be able to participate for the next little while in the 50 moments challenge. I will try to do the last week of the Big Bummer End of Summer challenge on Dixie Pieces just because I've only got one week left and I'd hate to quit with one left. I figure I'll just see how it goes for now, and I will start up again when I can with whatever week we're on. So, stay tuned...I'll keep you posted on the drama that is my life! lol

Here's a quick LO I did last night. I kind of threw it together really quickly for the Dixie Pieces Challenge. This week's LO was to be about the Tastes of Summer. This pic was taken this summer of my youngest son while he was eating his first (fruit or veggie?) avacado. He didn't really like it, and he still doesn't. We had to incorporate painting on this one, which was good because I've really been into painting on my layouts these days, although I'd never painted on my picture until last night, but I quite like it.

Silhouette Gallery

Well, here it is! My Layout that was accepted in the Silhouette Gallery!
There are a lot of great projects for inspiration there!
enjoy!

Week #1 Talents and Gifts

I was trying to post this earlier, but I was at my mother in law's place and it wouldn't let my pic come up clearly. So here it is, week one from Lisa Bearnson's book "50 Moments: Scrapbook The Pages That Matter The Most" I had quite a few ideas for this one, and I'm sure I will revisit them at one point down the road. That is what I love about this book, there are so many different ways you can scrap each of these subjects. For this page I decided to do it as a letter to my son Ethan (I plan on doing one for Caleb as well), of all awesome qualities of each close family member that I would like him to accuire.

I used the Quickutz 4x4 single pop up door and put a picture of each family member on the outside. The inside has the gift (what I wish Ethan to learn from each person).

I have no idea what patterned papers I used (I have a "supposed" 12x12 paper holder that I have to cut off the labels before I put them in otherwise they don't fit!) therefore, I don't know what they are! But I can tell you what Quickutz I used:

REV pop up door

Metro skinni minni

Central Park CC

Fiesta CC

Silhouette Shapes:

Vinyl art dandilion

2 different scallop borders

square bracket

heart

So there you go! You can also check out Kaylyn's Site for her version of week 1!

50 Moments

So I bought this book "50 Moments Scrapbook the Pages that Mean the Most" By Lisa Bearnson after I read a friend of mine's blog http://lifecreatingart.blogspot.com
She had just purchased this book as well and had decided to scrapbook all 50 subjects in the book. It really inspired me and after picking up the book I really wanted to do this as well! So I got in touch with her and we decided to do a weekly Challenge where we scrapbook each of the 50 subjects and post them up here for everyone to see. So every Wednesday, we will each be posting our interpretations of these subjects! I'm really excited and I think it's going to be a lot of fun! Stay tuned for the first one coming up this Wednesday. The subject is : Talents and Gifts

Week 3 of the Challenge, and some other exciting news!!

So here is my LO for week 3 of the Dixie Pieces challenge, The Textures of Summer. You can check it out at http://dixiepieces.com there's a lot of cool stuff going on over there!
I was really excited to do this layout, because I've been wanting to scrap these pics ever since we came back from Vancouver. They were taken at Crescent beach, and it was Ethan's first time at the ocean. He had soooo much fun that day, and I'm so excited that we're going back down to the coast in a week and a half so we can take him back there!
On another note... ONE OF MY LAYOUTS WAS ACCEPTED ON THE SILHOUETTE GALLERY!!! iI'm sooo excited!! Now I just have to figure out how to mail it!! lol

Okay, here's week 2 of the Sense-ational Summer challenge at dixie pieces. Week 2 was about the sights of summer. Our challenge technique this week was hand cutting, so I had cut a hose and used the Quickutz pop up flourishes as water. I cut some out with pp, and I also cut some with the Quickutz adhesive vellum. I used Diamond Glaze on all the flourishes to make them look wet. I also used Diamond glaze on the word "Play" which was cut out using QK Teriyaki. I also used QK Rockstar alpha, and Rainbow alpha.
The Journaling reads: "nothing says "summer" more than kids running, jumping, and being at play in the sprinkler."
TFL!

Mr. and Mrs. Grim Reaper

Well, here it is...I might've gotten it out of my system for now...maybe! However, this might've just spawned a craving to do even more Halloween pics! These pics were taken at my wedding reception...yes, I got married on Halloween, and it was AWESOME! lol This is my MC and his wife, good friends of ours who have since moved to the coast. I just LOVE the spiderweb background...cut out using my silhouette...of course! hehe I also used the new vine download and the dragonfly alphabet. The paper is Basic Grey, and I used some Prima flowers.
well, it's Waaaay past my bedtime, so good night all!
Cheers!

Fall is in the Air!

This weather we had today reminded me of fall, and I got soooo excited! I know the summer lovers out there are going to get mad at me for saying this (they do every year! lol) but I just can't wait for fall! I get a little nostalgic in the fall, and I love it! I'm doing these summer challenges for dixie pieces and all I can think of to scrapbook is all my halloween and fall pics from last year, and the year before (that I still haven't been finished...are we ever though?) So, I think tonight, I'm going to have to sit down, and get it out of my system before I get back to the summer layouts! So, stay tuned!

Scents of Summer!

here are some close ups of the stitching, and the journaling...in case anyone wanted to read it...

I did this page for a challenge at Dixie Pieces. It's called the "Big Bummer End of Summer SENSE-ational" Contest. There's 4 weekly challenges and they give you a color scheme, a certain technique you have to use, and a topic. This week's theme was the "scents of summer". So I scrapped a pic of my sister and my oldest son, Ethan, at our family cabin. I did a "top 10 scents of summer" journaling spot to list all of the things that remind me of summer. You can check out the challenge at http://dixiepieces.com/

The technique that we were supposed to use was stitching, so there had to be some sort of hand or machine stitching on our pages. This is the first time I've done any stitching on my pages, and I quite liked it! Although very time consuming, I believe I am going to be getting my sewing machine up and running in the very near future! I love doing challenges like this though, because it, well, challenges me to do things that aren't necessarily in my comfort zone, or things I wouldn't have thought to do before...color combos or what not...I'm looking forward to seeing what next week's challenge is! I'll keep ya posted!

PP: Cosmo Cricket, Crate Paper, and Fancy Pants. Cardstock: Bazzil. Die Cutting Machine: Quickutz Revolutions, and Silhouette: Rev: Cloud Border, Beads Border, Popsicle, Nesting circles, Alphabets: Gazebo, and Teriyaki. Silhouette: background "distressed notebook paper"Adhesive: Glue Dots, Sookwang tape, and EK success 3D-DotsButtons of unknown origin!

I already had the supplies list on the Dixie Pieces Gallery, so rather than writing it out again, I just did a copy paste thingy majig....in case anyone was wondering what kind of cool paper I used! Or what kind of cool die cuts I used! hehe okay, now I'm just being a dork...I think I'm sleep-tarded or something...I'm going to bed!

A 5 pounder!

My husband just came home like 10 minutes ago with this beauty of a rainbow trout! He is beaming from ear to ear! It's the biggest fish he's caught so far. He just got back into fishing this summer, and I'm so happy that he's got a hobby now. (now I don't feel so bad about all my scrapbooking expenses! lol although he has been dipping into that fund for his fishing lately! hehe I'm just kidding)
He is upstairs cleaning them as I write this (I am not such a dutiful wife that I clean the fish that he's brought home! I think I would throw up!) But I'll cook them for him later! I think we might smoke this one! It's way too big for the three of us to eat (Caleb isn't eating fish yet). So, we'll try out the mother in law's smoker ;)
I'm so proud of him! He caught 4 other fish tonight too! I guess I better get cookin'!

Today was such a great day! We went to Blue Lake with the kids and another family, and it was beautiful there! It's been sooo hot that the normally freezing cold lake was quite nice today. We got out there and there were quite a few people there, but since we got there just after 3 in the afternoon a lot of people were starting to pack up already and pretty much everyone left shortly after we got there! It was perfect! Ethan had soooo much fun swimming. He went with me probably at least 6 times to the dock and back, and every time he would jump off the dock too! I was really glad to see him becoming more confidant in the water, because he is sometimes a little timid when it comes to swimming. We just got home around 9! we were out quite late, but the weather was so nice. I'm just realizing now that I forgot to put sunscreen on my back! I can feel the tightness of a burn starting! Oh well, it was worth it! Chris is still out, he's probably on his way back in soon anyway, him and Loren stayed and went out fishing again. Chris already caught one! I'm pretty excited because I love having fresh fish to eat! It's the best!
anyway, I've gotta go make a card for an anniversary party we're going to tomorrow in Likely. There's truely no rest for the wicked! Blue Lake today, Likely tomorrow and Big Lake on Sunday! Maybe monday I'll get my house cleaned (one can only hope!)

My Little Man

It's been soooo hot here this last week, we've been spending a lot of time at the lake! I have been downstairs in the "scrap room" every night this week, and I have only managed to produce 1 layout! I've been too busy playing with my silhouette...cutting out random images...reading the online tutorial...just learning how to use it. It's so cool, there are sooo many different things you can do with it, it just amazes me. However, I am a little bit of a techno dummy so it is taking me some time to figure it all out! But I will get there! I just need to keep playing!

This page was inspired by Kaylyn Bar, she does some amazing work, you can check out her blog at http://lifecreatingart.blogspot.com

I used the silhouette to cut out a giant label and used it as a stensil and painted over it to leave the white space in the background. I love this technique! Thanks for the idea Kaylyn! I used a new alphabet background download from the silhouette inside the label. The alphabet is QK Fiesta. I also used these cute little Raindots by Cloud 9 Design to make some little flourishes on the two corners. The PP is Fancy Pants and both the yellow, blue and orange all came from the same page, I just used both sides!

I just love that smile! What a little flirt he is too! He just got his first tooth on Sunday. He was chewing on my finger like he always does, and all of a sudden I felt this little dagger in my finger! They're so sharp when they first come in! I knew it was coming though, I've been waiting for his teeth for like 2 months! I could see them under his gums forever, but they just took their time coming in. Not like I'm complaining! Now I have to worry about him biting me when I feed him! OUCH! hehe I can't believe how fast these kids are growing up...it makes me a little sad...I guess it's time to have another one! hehe! I think my husband might have something else to say on that matter! When your kids are this cute, how can you not want to have more?!

A Page Ethan Made!!

So, I came home yesterday afternoon after getting groceries, and I saw this on my kitchen table! While I was gone, Ethan had decided he wanted to make a scrapbook page for me. Chris told me that he picked out the paper and Chris helped him pick out the designs on the Silhouette. I love the flower with the googly eyes! That was the first thing Ethan said to me when he came home and I told him how much I loved it "Look Mom! It's got googly eyes!!" The funny thing is that after glueing the whole page down with a glue stick, my husband definately appreciates the existence of Glue Pens! He was like "that was hard to glue down!" hehehe He didn't know that there was anything else to glue with...I'm sure the next time him and Ethan make a project like this, he will be looking for my glue pen!

Mom's Birthday Card

My mom is turning 50 on July 19th and we're having a suprise party for her tomorrow night. (she obviously doesn't follow my blog or I wouldn't be posting it now! lol) I had a heck of a time trying to make this card for her because I kept getting sidetracked and kept having to help other people with their projects, but I finally finished it last night! I embossed the little flower flourish onto the acrylic page (if you're going to do this, just make sure that you're really careful and go from both sides until it embosses, because it will start to warp). On the front page I used the chopsticks alphabet and put "Make a Wish" The rest of it is on the inside. I used my silhouette to cut out the scallops and made the envelope with it as well. The envelope is where I put my sentiments. The "50" is from the 4x8 numbers die. This is the first time I've used ribbon to tie a card (or album) together. I like the look of it, but I've never done it before because it's a little frilly for me! I'm a tomboy what can I say? hehe Oh well, I really liked how this card turned out. I was a little stressed about it because I think that turning 50 is a pretty big occasion, so I was racking my brain trying to come up with a kick ass card for her 50th. And ya know what? with all the brain racking and stressing, I came up with the idea for this card in about 10 minutes! lol isn't that always the way it happens? You can't force creativity, it will come when it's ready! hehe
Thanks fer looking!!
Ciao!

looove the silhouette!

I am totally in love with my silhouette! It started off as a rocky relationship because I'm a little techno noob, but now that I've got it all figured out, I am in love!
I cut the background circles with it, and the bracket.
There's still some things that I'm trying to figure out with it, but I am soooo glad I got it! I can't believe the price either! it was only 299.00 plus I got 25% off for quickutz club, so with tax it was 250.00 then there's 6 months free unlimited downloads with it! I've already downloaded like 1000.00 worth of images, so I'd say I've already got my money's worth!

I'm sooooo excited! Tomorrow I get to go pick up my Silhouette!! yaaaay!! I feel like I'm going to explode because I have to wait until tomorrow! I'm like a freakin kid waiting for Santa to come! Do I sound like I'm a liittle bit of an addict?! lol
I was just looking at the online silhouette store, and I'm on overload right now! I'm like adding everything into my shopping cart! looks like I'm going to have to go with the unlimited downloads...or go broke! hehe

well, once I figure out how to use it, you can look forward to some pages done silhouette style!

I'm going to go try to sleep now! hehe

Summer Fun

I love these pics of Ethan from last year at the water park. It was the first time he'd gone were he was old enough to actually know what was going on. I was laughing as I was making this layout because the shorts that he's wearing in these pics which are at his ankles then are now at his knees! He's grown so much this last year I can't believe it!

I made the photo corner from a chipboard frame from Maya Road that I painted blue first, then added green glitter to it as the paint dried, then I cut it in half.
I used the quickutz pop up flourish and cut ghost shapes out with it. I used the quickutz plastic packaging. (it doesn't cut really, but I ran it through like 4 times, then used a utility knife to cut out the shape) Then I covered it with Diamond Glaze to make them look like water drops.

I painted the grid paper to match my page, but I also used it to stamp on the paper under the "@", then I glued the actual paper under the pics.
The PP is Crate Paper, and the sun is made from Fancy Pants pp.
I also used the quickutz instant photo, nesting circles, squigly circle from the Reuse Spring gift set, and the confetti border. The alphabet is moxie skinni minni.
I'm really liking the instant photo, it's the first time I used it, and I know it definately won't be the last!

So, I am happy to say, that I am now a part of the design team for Creative Accents!! *yay* I can't wait to have some time to start scrappin! lol

Caleb rolled over today!! yaay Caleb! hehe

He's been trying sooo hard to roll from his back to his front, and today I put him on his tummy, and he rolled over so easily! I missed it of course! I just looked back at him and he was on his back again! Then later tonight, I put him on his stomach again, turned around, then looked back at him, and he was on his back again! I still haven't actually seen him roll over, but he's done it twice now!

On another note, there is a mosquito in my computer room that is biting the hell outta my legs and it's going to DIE!!

goodnight, I must go mosquito hunting!

Happy Canada Day!!

It was such a great day to have a Canada Day Celebration! We went to the park today and watched a bit of the Canada Day ceremony, then we went to see Ice Age 3 in 3D!! It was cooL! I guess not your average Canada Day thing to do, but it was a lot of fun. Ethan really liked it, and as much as I was against the idea, we brought Caleb along too. It was my mom's idea, so my husband (who just came off night shift) could sleep, she suggested that we bring him with us. So we did, and he sat there and zoned out on it the WHOLE time (when he wasn't sleeping!) I couldn't believe it! He was quiter than most of the other kids in the theater! So Caleb went to his first movie today!
I am feeling really grateful today that I live in Canada!! YAAAY CANADA!! Happy Birthday!!

I thought of this page when I saw the new Zelda release. I just thought it would look so cool with bright colors and sunny-ness...lol Unfortunately I didn't buy Zelda, because when it was on preorder at the store, I didn't think I would use it all that much...then I saw it in real life and I'm in love with it! But my aunt has it, and Tara let me use it at the store to make this page! This page took me 2 nights to make! I think it's the most detail I've ever put into a page. I couldn't find a patterned paper that I liked for the background (which is ridiculous if you've seen my paper stash, you'd agree!) so I made my own with the Quickstampz flourish stamp and a couple different colors. then I stamped the squiggles on the sun strips and distressed the edges of all the strips. It was the sun that took most of the time, but I think this is one of my favourite pages. I Love these pics of Ethan. We were at the park last year when I took these. I can't believe how much he's grown since then. It makes me a little sad, because my baby is growing up! Chris thinks I'm funny when I say stuff like that, but it's true, and I think all mom's out there know what I'm talking about! Even my littlest baby is growing so fast! He's already 5 months old! He's started having a little bit of oat cereal already, he's drooling away and I can see some little teeth coming in! I can't believe how fast time goes by!

Blog Makeover

I was getting bored of my old blog layout, so I thought I'd change it up! Now that that's finished, maybe I'll actually get to bed before midnight! Being a night owl has really started to catch up with me now that my kids all of a sudden are waking up at 6:30am! Ethan used to wake up anywhere from 7:30-8:30, now all of a sudden it's 6:30 every morning! Caleb too! Actually, the other morning Caleb woke up at 5:30! And of course it follows the night that I didn't go to bed until 1:30! I can function quite well on a minimum of 5 hours of sleep, but when I've only got 4 under my belt...I'm not that nice! lol either that or I'm too sleepy to be bitchy! I think it was a combination of the two throughout the day!
Anyway, I've got to go and try to sleep...I've got to drive to Kamloops in two days, so I need to get as much sleep as I can because I'm driving solo! My mother in law is coming with us, but she can't drive, and my husband is working...so I'm the only one driving...I will need an intravenus of caffeine and I should be alright!

Cheers!

Card Crazy

I've been really into making cards lately...usually I only make one as I need it and stick mainly to scrapbooking, but I am totally inspired by cards! I LOVE this Close to My Heart stamp and unfortunately it's one that I didn't buy...I borrowed it off my sister in law. It was the stamp of the month last month and I though..."eh, I probably won't use that one" I've already used it like 5 times and I got it from Nae yesterday! So, it's definately one that I'm hoping they bring into the next catalogue! I also used the Flirt gift set, and Gazebo for the capital "S". Maybe I like making cards because I can make them girly and not have to think about what "boyish" layout I'm going to do next! lol I guess that's what happens when you have two boys! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my boys and love making they're pages, but I need a little estrogen every once in a while! I'm quite outnumbered in my house...3 to 1!
anyway...hope ya like the card!
ciao!

I did these two cards for a Hero Arts complementary colors challenge. I didn't even know I had another Hero Arts stamp...it turns out I have 3! The background is the Hero Arts celebrate wordprints stamp. On the card with the black background, I embossed the stamp with white embossing powder and added some bling to the cake. I added bling to the background on the one with the white background, and a couple little blingies on the cake and stand as well! gotta have the bling! I did the white background first, then it inspired me to use the opposites for the other card. I really liked the first card that I made, but now I can't decide which one I like better...

if you have a favourite, let me know!

Father's Day Card

I just stopped into Creative Accents today and picked up my Chicken Noodle alphabet so I had to use it. It goes perfectly with this cute little Close to My Heart owl stamp that I just got the other day! I'm just kinda starting to stamp more and learning how to color! lol I just used my son's crayola pencil crayons for this stamp because I don't have any fancy markers or anything, but I don't think it's too bad for crayola?
I think I'm becoming a bit obsessed with owls...hehe they're just too cute! Hope my husband likes the father's day card!

Hero Arts & Quickutz

I made this card for the Creative Accents (local scrapbook store) challenge to make a card using Hero Arts stamps and Quickutz dies. When I first read about the challenge on the blog I wasn't going to do it, because I haven't done a lot of stamping and I didn't think I owned any Hero Arts stamps. Then I realized that this one is a Hero Arts stamp. So here it is: I embossed the stamp with white pigment ink, and white embossing powder on a white piece of cardstock. Then I painted over the whole thing with acrylic paint, waited for it to dry, then sanded over the stamped image to bring out the image again. I used the Moxie Skinny Minnie alphabet set too.

Here's a few pics of us at the Ocean. We went to Crescent Beach, and it was great! It wasn't really busy, and the weather was perfect! I'm not really sure why I was kneeling the way I was in the pic of me kneeling behind my name in the sand...I kind of look like I'm grabbing my crotch! lol I can assure you I'm NOT!
On another note, I got a totally wicked sunburn that day! I was shocked because it was hardly sunny out!

Back from Holidays!

So, it's been a while. I'm back from our holiday, and we had a blast! We spent a couple days in Whistler. I've never been there before, so it was great to go somewhere different and see new things! It's so beautiful there! The drive was amazing! It was an extremely whindy road (i'm not sure if I'm spelling that right or not), but I didn't have to drive, so it was all good on my part! My husband was looking forward to the drive, but realized quickly that driving on that kind of road in a mini-van is quite different from the "curve hugging" drive of a Volkswagon Beetle!

We didn't do too much in Whistler, just walked around the villiage, but it was nice and relaxing. I would've loved to go zip-trecking, but I didn't want to put the kids in daycare there. Caleb is way too young for me to feel comfortable with that, and Ethan would've freaked! He's not good with daycare.
After Whistler, came the big day for Ethan! A Day Out With Thomas in Squamish! He had sooo much fun! He got his picture taken with Sir Topin Hat, and Thomas, and he got to take a ride on Thomas the Train! Caleb had fun too chillin out in his throne of a

stroller! There was a little mini train that we all went for a ride on. It was more fun that taking a ride on Thomas! They've got a pretty sweet set up going on at the Heritage Railway Museum!
After Thomas, it was off to Vancouver to visit the In Laws! Chris's aunts and uncles all live down at the coast, and we stayed with his Uncle Dale and Aunty Bev. Thanks for having us if you're reading this!! We had a good visit with his family, and we got to take Ethan to the beach for the first time! I'm not positive, but I think he might've had more fun at the beach

than he did at Thomas! We dug for clams, and flipped over rocks and found crabs and jumped in the ocean! It was a lot of fun! I'm still recovering from the whole trip, but it was definately worth it!

I can't wait until I can get my pics developed and start scrappin them!!

Quickutz Ambassador Program

So I applied to be part of the Quickutz Ambassador program! You had to do a questionaire and submit a 2 page layout, so this is the one I submitted! I think it would be so fun to do something like that!! Wish Me Luck!! *fingers crossed*

So...The Garage Sale is going good so far I've made $200.00! Unfortunately, I don't get to spend it on Quickutz! lol However, I DO get to spend it taking my 3 year old son to see Thomas the Train in Squamish on the 6th of June (I'm already scrapbooking the pics in my head! I can use my Quickutz trains! yay! lol)

Is there a 12 step program for Quickutz addicts? I think maybe there should be! lol

I am seeing the signs of addiction everywhere...a messy house, a drained bank account, and still all I can think of is SCRAPBOOKING! hehe yup, I'm an addict! oh well, like I told my husband while trying to convince him to buy me the Flirt gift set, he said "115.00! That's as much as some of my tools!" then I said "yeah, these are MY tools" then he said "yeah, but mine at least make me money!" and I said "yes, but mine make me HAPPY, and who knows, maybe some day they'll make me money!" lol (btw, he bought me the set!!) some say I should've been a lawyer! lol

On another note, I'm sooo excited to take Ethan to Thomas, he's going to have soooo much fun! He asked me yesterday if he could wear his Thomas costume to Squamish! he's soo cute! This is a pic of him on Halloween night. My little Thomas!

a Love Affair with Quickutz...

I LOOOVE the new spring gift sets!!! I can't decide which one is my favourite! I think Flirt is though, it gives me an opportunity to scrap some girly stuff...which is few and far between when you have 2 boys! That perfume bottle is just tooo cute! aaahh! it's turning me into such a girl!! (as a major tomboy that's quite a feat! lol) My husband just bought me the new Flirt gift set tonight, and I just had to come home and try it out! So here it is...straight outta hairdressing school...or still in school I guess! Hey, at least it doesn't say "Beauty School Drop Out!" lol
You will all have to forgive me, as it's 1:30 am, and I'm a little sleeptarded and giddy!
Enjoy!
